Two years of Dimitriou eCommerceWebServices UG
Two years as a UG: 20 clients, 41 websites and shops, our first own products, and why I’d rather grow a little slower than give up the promise that you always talk to me directly.
This month, Dimitriou eCommerceWebServices UG turns two. Some mornings it feels as if we started last week. Other days, looking at the list of projects, it feels like a very long time.
Where we stand
After our first year I wrote that I wanted to look after our existing clients first and grow carefully. Here is the honest count, two years in:
- 20 clients we work with regularly, in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Greece (14 a year earlier)
- 41 websites and shops that we build, run or look after on our servers (29 before)
- every enquiry still answered personally, in German, English or Greek
A year ago I set myself a target of 50 % more clients. We landed at around 40 %. I won’t dress that up. I’d rather grow a little slower and keep the promise that when you write to us, you talk to the person who built your website.
What this year brought
- Our first own software products: the Virtual Try-On plugin for WooCommerce (September 2025) and LOKIDocs, a private, offline AI for documents (November 2025).
- Fixed prices instead of timesheets: recurring work has become clear fixed-price offers. Clients know the price and the delivery time before we start.
- More shops, more industries: opticians, boat rentals, trades, consultancies. Every industry taught us something that helped the next one.
What I learned
Small is a strength. The feedback I hear most often isn’t about the technology. It’s that people can simply reach me.
Building our own tools pays off. Every tool we first built for ourselves has since made client projects faster and safer.
Saying no is part of the job. Not every project is a fit. An honest no at the start beats a half-hearted yes.
Personally
Two years between Germany and Greece, many evenings at the laptop and more coffee than I care to admit. After more than twenty years on the web, I still get a kick out of a shop going live and the first order coming in.
Thank you to the people around me who support me and help me keep moving forward.
What’s next
Two things are on the workbench right now, both grown out of our own work:
- our own backend for content and shops;
- an AI assistant that takes routine work off small teams.
More on both here soon.
Thank you
To our clients: thank you for your trust, your patience, and all the good questions that made us better. Here’s to the next years!
